Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic has welcomed reports that Jose Mourinho could return to Stamford Bridge as manager next season.
The Portuguese, currently coaching Real Madrid, is understood to have held talks with Blues owner Roman Abramovich in the last few months.
Last week, a number of British media outlets reported that a provisional deal had been struck for Mourinho to take over next season, while he said he could return to "a destination where I have coached before".
The main stumbling block appears to be the prospect of Chelsea missing out on the Champions League next season, but one of Mourinho's former colleagues, Porto youth coach Rui Sa Lemos, has already said on Twitter that Stamford Bridge will be the manager's next destination.
Ivanovic said: "For a top club like Chelsea, we need the best from the players and from the manager, and maybe one day it will be a pleasure to work with him.
"He was a success and has said that Chelsea is his home and that he loved the club. This is something positive, and with that atmosphere you can have good, positive things for the club."
