Wilson finally happy at Celtic

Celtic defender Kelvin Wilson has said he is finally enjoying life at Parkhead and would relish the chance to cap off his fine campaign with a second Scottish Premier League title.

• Blog: Green Brigade - innocent party?

Wilson, 27, joined Celtic in the summer of 2011 and won the league title in his first season, but he struggled for form and fitness.

That followed a miserable final six months with Nottingham Forest, when he was frozen out of the side after agreeing a pre-contract with the Bhoys.

However, after establishing himself as a key player at the centre of defence this season, and attracting the attention of England boss Roy Hodgson, Wilson has said he is now feeling happy.

"I've played a lot this year," he told the Celtic View. "I think this has been the most I've played in almost three years.

"I had my issues in my last season at Nottingham Forest. I wasn't training or playing, and then at Celtic I've had injuries or not been able to get into the team because they have been doing well, but this season has been a good run for me and I'm enjoying it.

"When you enjoy it, it makes it easy, but if you're happy with personal things, it's ten times easier and that's how it's been this year.

"I think winning the league this season would mean even more to me than last year. Things weren't right on a personal note so I didn't enjoy it as much as I could have. A lot of things have been right this year - not perfect, but right - so I've got on with my football and I think it's shown."

Celtic are currently 15 points clear at the top of the table.
