Kaka hoping for 2014 World Cup role

Kaka is hoping to force his way into Brazil's squad for the World Cup in 2014 after earning an international recall.

The Real Madrid attacker, 30, was part of the Selecao team which won the World Cup under Luiz Felipe Scolari in 2002 and he is eager to experience the tournament on home soil.

He said: "It's been a while since I've seen 'Big Phil'. It'll be great to meet up with him once more and to work with him again. I don't know how long that'll be for, but I hope to play at the World Cup in 2014."

Kaka has struggled to hold down a regular starting place for Real Madrid but after forcing his way back into contention under Jose Mourinho he wants to recreate his club form on the international stage.

"I think that things are getting better for me, above all at my club," he added. "I'm playing more often at Madrid. The supporters are showing that they appreciate me and that is an extra motivation. Now I hope to make the most of this chance with Brazil."

Kaka has been capped 83 times for Brazil making him the most experienced member of Scolari's squad. But he is happy to relied upon as an experienced head in the camp.

He said: "I'm a new veteran. I have to confess I didn't know I had the most caps, but I'm happy to have been part of so many squads and to be involved in this new phase for the national side."
