Italy coach Cesare Prandelli has named Torino winger Alessio Cerci in his 27-man squad to face Brazil and Malta.

Cerci, 25, is in the squad alongside the returning AC Milan defender Mattia De Sciglio and Genoa left-back Luca Antonelli.

The Azzurri will face Brazil in a friendly match in Switzerland on Thursday before travelling to Malta for a World Cup qualifier on March 26.

Cerci has produced a string of impressive performances for Torino this season and, having represented Italy at Under-21 level six times, is in line for a first senior cap.

Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti is out of the squad after suffering an injury, while Roma's Pablo Osvaldo and Daniele De Rossi serve competitive suspensions for the game in Malta but are eligible to face Brazil.
