PSG throw away two-goal lead

PSG threw away a two goal lead to draw with St Etienne in Ligue 1

Paris Saint-Germain wasted an opportunity to go seven points clear at the top of Ligue 1 as they threw away a lead to draw 2-2 with St Etienne at Stade Geoffroy-Guichard.

• Johnson: PSG hang on for point
• Sat: Lyon thrashed at Bastia

Despite racing ahead through Javier Pastore's strike and a Zlatan Ibrahimovic penalty, PSG had to settle for a point as St Etienne's spirited response delivered an Alex own-goal and a Francois Clerc equaliser.

St Etienne remain unbeaten in 2013 but will be disappointed not to have claimed the three points that would have taken them level on points with Marseille in third. David Beckham made his first start in European football in almost three years.

Djamel Bakar's first-half strike raised Nancy's hopes of beating the drop as they overcame Nice 1-0 at the Stade Marcel Picot.

Lossemy Karaboue delivered from the right and Bakar, despite seeing his first effort well saved by David Ospina, followed up to score what proved to be the winner.

Nancy remain well adrift of safety, five points behind fourth-bottom Brest, but they have four wins in their last eight league outings. A third straight defeat away from home for injury-hit Nice meant the visitors missed an opportunity to move level on points with third-placed Marseille.

Toulouse and Bordeaux were left languishing in mid-table as both teams played out a dour 0-0 draw in the derby de la Garonne.

Both sides' recent poor run of goalscoring form was highlighted at the Stade Alle Gabriel Bienes as Bordeaux struggled to find the breakthrough which would have seen them close the gap on a European place.

Toulouse's failure to win means they still have just one win in their last eight attempts and have won once once at home all year.
