Klopp: We could play Chuck Norris

Borussia Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp insisted he could add American martial arts star Chuck Norris to his line-up after his side dismantled Freiburg 5-1 in the Bundesliga.

Dortmund remain a whopping points behind runaway leaders Bayern Munich but goals to want-away striker Robert Lewandowski (2), on-loan midfielder Nuri Sahin (2) and Leonardo Bittencourt confirmed their position as the second best team in Germany.

However, Klopp's team sheet before the game did not prophesise the goal glut to come, with the manager springing a surprise in midfield with Ilkay Gundogan partnering Sahin.

But the 45-year-old Klopp said his side performance proved it was not about the individual, but the tactical approach that made Dortmund such a dangerous side.

"It's not about who plays in defensive midfield," Klopp told Ruhr Nachrichten after the match. "It's about how a team close spaces together.

"I could have asked Chuck Norris and Sven Bender to defend together. Nuri and Ilkay had a few problems at first, but got back into the game well to have a great match. It's a beautiful story.

"Today, the opponents were extremely physical, while tactically and technically assured. But in the end, it was a perfect afternoon."

Sahin, who returned to Dortmund on-loan from Real Madrid via Liverpool in the January window, praised his manager after his two-goal salvo proved to be one of the stand-out performances of the match.

The 24-year-old has had a slow start since returning to his boyhood club, but believes, with the help of Klopp, is making the step in right direction.

"The coach had said it time and time again, it was only a matter of time. I'm not hiding my bad passes, but that's part of my game and the coach knows that," Sahin told ARD.

"I had not performed well against Hamburg [in February], but today was put in charge of making things happen again and succeeded.

"I was a bit frustrated in the first-half, but in the end it was another important step in our development."
