Fergie: Utd not complacent in title race

Ray Stubbs is joined by Kevin Keegan and Craig Burley who answer your questions tweeted in to @ESPNUK.

Sir Alex Ferguson has insisted that Manchester United will not get complacent despite taking a 15-point lead in the title race.

United's 1-0 win over Reading, coupled with Manchester City's 2-0 defeat at Everton earlier on Saturday, put the league leaders in a commanding position.

But while United only need 14 points to regain the title and could beat their own record of winning the division by 18 points in 2000, their manager is in no mood to accept that silverware has been won.

He said: "You don't get points or medals for complacency and we won't be. It is a great position to be in but the only thing we can do now is win our next game. The team has shown great consistency, a lot of great football and our goal difference over City is big now, 13 goals."

Wayne Rooney scored the goal to defeat Reading with a deflected shot and Ferguson accepted his side were below their best.

He added: "It wasn't a great performance but where we are today isn't down to today."

Ferguson said United are going to great lengths to get their players back from international duty for the Easter double-header against Sunderland in the Premier League and Chelsea in the FA Cup.

"We're making arrangements for some players to fly home by privately hired jet after their matches to make sure they get home as quickly and smoothly as possible. [Assistant manager] Mike Phelan is working on this at the moment because we have a full team away on international duty at the moment," he explained.
