Alex Ferguson alters ManU lineup

Sir Alex Ferguson made eight changes to his Manchester United starting lineup as they looked to tighten their grip on the Premier League title against Reading at Old Trafford on Saturday.

Alexander Buttner, Chris Smalling and Anderson were all included, as was Rio Ferdinand, who has a big decision ahead of him after being called up by England boss Roy Hodgson for the World Cup qualifiers with San Marino and Montenegro.

Manchester City's defeat at Everton earlier Saturday means the Red Devils will go 15 points clear with nine games remaining if they win, and following the dismissal of Brian McDermott, temporary Royals boss Eamonn Dolan opted to do without the services of Adam La Fondre.
