Lucas Moura could return to action for Paris Saint-Germain sooner than anticipated, according to reports in France.
Le Parisien said the Brazil international may be able to face Saint-Etienne on Sunday. It had initially been thought that he would be out for around three weeks after aggravating an ankle injury against Nancy last Saturday.
"He has a nasty ankle sprain, but there are no complications," the paper quoted a club source as saying. "He is improving quite quickly and will be able to start running again."
The report said the 20-year-old could be back in full training by Saturday, giving him a slight chance of featuring at Saint-Etienne the following evening.
Despite the apparent improvement in his fitness, the player posted on Twitter on Wednesday night that he was "sad" he would not be able to represent Brazil in friendlies against Italy and Russia later this month.
"I really wanted to take part in these friendlies. It is always a dream to play for the Selecao, but unfortunately the injury is very recent," he wrote.
