Zlatan responds to 'demanding' fans

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has hit out at those Paris Saint-Germain fans who booed the team during Saturday's 2-1 home win against Nancy at the Parc des Princes.

• Blog: PSG wipe away Nancy bogey

PSG trailed at half-time against opponents in the relegation zone before a second-half brace from the Swedish striker earned the Ligue 1 leaders a win that allowed them to move four points clear of Lyon in the race for the title.

It was a far from perfect performance by Carlo Ancelotti's team, but it came just three days after they had qualified for the quarter-finals of the Champions League and Ibrahimovic, who has now scored 24 goals in 25 Ligue 1 appearances, believes the club's fans need a reality check.

"People are very demanding in Paris," he told reporters on leaving the Parc des Princes. "It is a bit bizarre when you think of what things were like before. Because, before, there was nothing."

The 31-year-old also hit back at criticism in the media of PSG's recent performances against clubs from the lower reaches of the Ligue 1 table, with Saturday's laboured win following on from recent defeats away to Sochaux and Reims.

"Try and play these games yourselves and then you will understand," he added. "I have played for lots of clubs and won titles everywhere but it is never easy to win games like these.

"We always want to win playing good football but it is not easy. We do our best. Sometimes we don't achieve the objectives we set ourselves. That's life.

"We are human beings. You (the media) make lots and lots of mistakes and so can we sometimes."
