Ozil: I don't need Arsenal goals for my ego

Suarez: We need to stop Bale

Liverpool striker Luis Suarez is wary of the threat posed by Tottenham Hotspur forward Gareth Bale as the two sides prepare to go head to head on Sunday.

Suarez is now the Premier League's top scorer with 21 goals, and has scored six goals in his last three games in all competitions. But Bale is just as hot right now and his strike against Inter Milan on Thursday took his tally to 10 goals in eight matches at club level.

Liverpool know they must beat Spurs if they are to keep alive any lingering hopes of a top-four finish.

"[Lionel] Messi and [Cristiano] Ronaldo may be playing in another dimension but Gareth has all it takes to play at the highest level," Suarez was quoted as saying by the Sun. "He is one of the Premier League's players of the season and is in magnificent form. He is unquestionably the key for Spurs.

"We need to stop him to avoid problems in our penalty area. We're not obsessed with Gareth but he's the one to stop, not just because of his goals but because of all his assists for team-mates."

Despite enjoying his most prolific season since moving to England, Suarez still believes he should have scored more goals.

He added: "I've analysed our matches and should have scored more often. I watch videos at home, studying goalkeepers and rival defenders in a bid to improve my performance.

"The game with Spurs should be sensational - one of the games of the season. From now on every match is like a final for us. We are 10 points off Chelsea - who hold the final Champions League spot - and need three points in the race for the Europa League.

"Tottenham's win over Inter Milan will have boosted their morale but we are confident. We have improved so much in the last few months and are now close to the team everyone desires.

"We must get into Europe. Our challenge was the Champions League but we must not miss out on the Europa League."
