Willian: I'll justify price tag at Anzhi

Anzhi Makhachkala striker Willian is confident he will produce performances worthy of the £30 million transfer fee the club paid Shakhtar Donetsk for his services in January.

Willian, 24, was a high-profile acquisiton for the big-spending Russian outfit and made an immediate impact on his debut last week, creating Samuel Eto'o's opener in the 3-1 Europa League last-32 victory over Hannover.

The Brazilian attacker arrived from Ukraine with an impressive reputation and he is determined to show that Anzhi were right to splash the cash on him.

"Obviously they're going to want a return on that, but I've got to stay cool," Willian told FIFA.com. "I can't put pressure on myself when I go out there. I've got to let things happen naturally so that I can show they made the right decision in spending that money."

And Willian has lofty ambitions to go with his lofty price tag at Anzhi , saying: "The club has got a big future. They're signing players, putting together a great squad and competing with the richest clubs in Europe, while also fighting it out for the league championship. We've got a strong and well-drilled squad.

"We're going to try and win the lot: the league, the cup and the Europa League. They're tough tournaments, but when you look at what the club's doing in buying players and putting a strong unit together, then the titles are bound to come. Who knows, they might come straightaway? After all, that's what I was used to in Ukraine."

The former Corinthians man is already feeling settled in Russia, with the dressing-room banter that welcomed him at Anzhi helping to put him at ease.

"They even played jokes on me," Willian said. "At my first lunch they made me stand up on a chair and introduce myself, but they barely let me speak. Whenever I tried to say something they just shouted me down. The players know how to have fun. You can see that in training. Everyone helps each other out."
