Hannover forward Mame Biram Diouf says he is in no hurry to extend his contract with the club.
Diouf, 25, is tied down to the Lower Saxony side until 2014 and has recently been linked with a move to several other clubs after scoring 15 goals in all competitions this season.
Hannover are hoping to secure the services of the former Manchester United man beyond 2014, but Diouf is in no rush to make a decision on his future just yet.
“We will calmly wait and see what happens in the future,” Diouf’s agent Jim Solbakken told Sport Bild. “Mame feels good here. But there is no need to rush a decision.”
Despite not wanting to be forced into signing a new deal, Diouf insists he is happy at the club.
“I love the team. I enjoy it here. But now my focus is on our games,” he said.
German media have reported recently that the forward could be set for a switch to Borussia Dortmund. Hannover, however, are determined to do all they can to keep hold of their player.
“We are aware of his qualities and will consider them in our offer,” Hannover president Martin Kind told Bild. “Diouf feels good here and has the environment that partly explains his development.”
Meanwhile, Diouf could miss Hannover’s match at Dortmund this weekend, having failed to train in the past two days.
“He is tired and worn out,” manager Mirko Slomka said.
Diouf has played 27 games in all for Hannover this season.
