Jol unsure over Diarra return

Mahamadou Diarra's season may be over as he struggles to recover from a knee injury, according to Fulham boss Martin Jol.

The Mali midfielder, 31, has made only five appearances for the Cottagers since September and has not played since defeat to Spurs on December 1.

Jol is hopeful Diarra may appear before next season but is unsure as to the extent of the former Real Madrid star's injury.

"Diarra is still not right," Jol said. "He will need quite a while to come back, hopefully before the end of the season.

"He had an operation, looked better and then had a rest and it was even more painful. Hopefully in the next couple of weeks we will know more."
