Grant Holt, Norwich top Everton late
But the Canaries dealt Everton's Champions League hopes a blow as they fought to the end and were rewarded when Kamara headed in after a corner and Holt swept in from close range.
Kamara joined Norwich last month on loan from MLS club Sporting Kansas City and his introduction just before the hour breathed new life into the Canaries. The 28-year-old powered in a header from a corner to equalize with just six minutes left
"Kei is a different type of player to whom we have up front and we are delighted for him," said Norwich manager Chris Hughton. "He had been here to England before (on trial at Stoke), but these things are all about timings and it was right for us. He has that ability to get beyond and is good in the air, he gives us good possibilities.
Norwich could turn Kamara's loan move into a permanent deal at the end of the season.
"It is always a bit of a risk because you are bringing players over who you don't know how they will settle into the league, but he is a lad who wants to do really well and it is a good opportunity for him."
Dimitar Berbatov struck a stunning volley as Fulham beat Stoke 1-0 in the day's early kickoff.
The Bulgarian hooked a shot from a clearance into the top corner to put the hosts in front in first-half injury time at Craven Cottage.
The goal was Berbatov's ninth of the season after moving to west London from Manchester United before the summer transfer window closed, and Fulham boss Martin Jol reckons he can score many more before the end of the campaign.
"Hopefully he will score other goals but we have other players," Jol said. "Mladen Petric has scored six goals without playing a lot so we have got more players who can make a difference but Dimitar certainly made a difference today. Dimitar always scores between 15-25 goals and it would be silly to think he won't score 15-20 goals for us and that is what I always had in mind."
Shea, a United States winger, replaced the injured Matthew Etherington in the 24th minute to make his first appearance for Stoke since joining from MLS club FC Dallas last month.
Fulham moved to within a point of the Potters in the Premier League table.
Wigan moved out of the bottom three and leapfrogged Reading with a convincing 3-0 win over the 10-man Royals in their relegation battle at the Madejski Stadium.
Roberto Martinez's men were second best early on but came to life in the last minute of the first half as Arouna Kone struck twice.
Romelu Lukaku claimed both goals as West Brom overcame Sunderland 2-1 at The Hawthorns.
Lukaku's second came in freak circumstances after he broke into the box and Simon Mignolet's attempted clearance cannoned off him into the net.
