Anderson: United targeting Treble

Anderson has declared that everyone at Manchester United is determined to do the Treble and lift the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League trophies this season.

The Brazill midfielder helped United to a 2-1 win over Reading on Monday night to book their place in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup. They face Real Madrid at Old Trafford on March 5 with a place in the last eight of the Champions League at stake and have a 12-point lead in the Premier League.

Sir Alex Ferguson's team, who are unbeaten in 16 games, could be on course to emulate the team of 1999 and Anderson said: "Everyone wants to win the three titles."

The former Porto player is in his sixth season at Old Trafford and is yet to triumph in the FA Cup. Only Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes and Darren Fletcher have winners' medals from their time at United and Anderson added: "Everyone wants to win it."

But Anderson is refusing to get carried away by the prospect of what United could achieve, saying: "It can happen that we could lose all three, so we have to be focused."

The 24-year-old came off the bench in the 1-1 draw against Real Madrid last week and started against Reading and believes Ferguson's decision to rotate his squad is helping.

He explained: "The manager is changing the team all the time and the players are doing very well. Manchester United have always had a big squad. I know it is hard for the boss to pick the team all the time. He changes the whole team all the time."

Ferguson has plenty of options in the centre of midfield, where Anderson partnered Tom Cleverley against Reading, and the Brazilian added: "I enjoy playing with them all, Cleverley, [Michael] Carrick, Giggs. Whoever the boss picks has to do their job."
