Pepe eyes final against Porto

Real Madrid defender Pepe says he is dreaming of a Champions League final between his current team and former side Porto.

• Porto blog: Pereira's mission

Portugal international Pepe, 29, spent three seasons at the Estadio do Dragao, winning two Primeira Liga titles, before moving to Madrid for €30 million in the summer of 2007.

The centre-half told Portuguese TV channel Antena 1 that his dream was for both clubs to meet in this season's European football showpiece at Wembley on May 25.

"Every team dreams of playing the Champions League final - Porto just as much as Real Madrid," Pepe said. "It would be a dream if both teams play in the final, because I still have a lot of affection for them."

Porto face Madrid's La Liga rivals Malaga in the last 16, with the first leg at home on Tuesday evening. Pepe said he expected Vitor Pereira's side to progress.

"Porto are a great team," he said. "They have a good chance to get through to the next round. For me they are the favourites."

Madrid drew their last-16 first leg 1-1 at home to Manchester United last Wednesday at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu. Pepe said he was confident he and his team-mates could get a more positive result in the second game in Manchester on March 5, setting them up for a run towards the club's long-awaited tenth European Cup trophy.

"Winning 'la decima' is our big objective," he said. "To do that we need to come back against United at Old Trafford. We know we can do that."
