Fit-again Hoilett hoping to make an impact

Queens Park Rangers winger Junior Hoilett is desperate to help inspire the club to Premier League survival after recovering from his latest injury setback.

• Blog: Next three weeks vital

Hoilett, 22, signed for QPR from Blackburn last summer but hamstring problems have meant he has been limited to just nine league starts for his new club.

The Canada international has only featured once since the arrival of Harry Redknapp as manager in November. However, he is set to return from his latest hamstring injury this weekend and Hoilett is keen to show Redknapp what he has been missing.

"I started training last week,'' he told the Fulham Chronicle. "I've been doing some rehab and strength work and will hopefully be ready for the next match [against Manchester United].

"It's been really frustrating, especially when a new manager comes in and you can't show him what you can do because of injuries. I've struggled with the same hamstring problem. Hopefully it's sorted now and I can get going. I feel I'm over it now.

"It's been difficult. I came back from injury and got my chance, then got injured again. I've just had to stay focused and hopefully get going again."

Hoilett suffered relegation with Blackburn last season and is determined not to suffer the same fate two years running.

"I want to help the team get the results we need," he said. "I haven't been able to do that when I'm on the sidelines. It's not a good feeling getting relegated. I know what it's like, so it gives me extra drive to make sure it doesn't happen again."
