Chelsea and City cruise

Frank Lampard and John Terry scored in front of owner Roman Abramovich as holders Chelsea overcame stubborn Brentford 4-0 in an FA Cup replay at Stamford Bridge to set up a fifth-round clash with Middlesbrough.

Juan Mata fired a clinical opening goal after 54 minutes and Oscar, who hit the outside of a post in the first half, tucked in his second goal in four days after 68 minutes.

Mata was the provider for Lampard's 199th Chelsea goal before Terry headed in an 81st-minute fourth as last season's Champions League winners stayed on course for a fifth FA Cup triumph in seven seasons.

Sergio Aguero struck twice as Manchester City kept their season alive by breezing into the FA Cup quarter-finals 4-0 at the expense of Leeds.

The Championship side were no match for the reigning Premier League champions, who responded to last week's title setback with a dominant display at the Etihad Stadium.

Yaya Toure began the procession early on before Aguero added a penalty and a fine finish either side of a close-range Carlos Tevez effort.

It was just the fillip manager Roberto Mancini needed, with City 12 points behind Manchester United in the title race and amid fresh speculation over his position.

Wigan manager Roberto Martinez made seven changes but his side was still too good for Huddersfield and cruised through to the FA Cup quarter-finals for the first time in 26 years with a 4-1 win.

Winger Callum McManaman, a distant relative of former Liverpool striker Steve McManaman, and midfielder James McArthur were two players Martinez recalled and they rewarded the Spaniard with displays full of Premier League class.

McManaman struck a fine opening goal in the 31st minute and Arouna Kone tapped home a second shortly before the break to leave new Huddersfield manager Mark Robins with a difficult half-time team-talk in his first match in charge.

McArthur struck a brilliant third goal from the edge of the penalty area early in the second half and although Huddersfield substitute Lee Novak headed home just after the hour, it was not enough to trouble a Wigan side who are still chasing their first win in the Premier League this year.
