Balotelli: My best form is near

Mario Balotelli admits he has struggled for consistency this season, but is confident AC Milan is helping him reach career-best form.

• Blog: Super Mario shines

Balotelli, 22, scored a match winning free-kick in Milan's 2-1 victory over Parma on Friday, netting his fourth goal in three matches since joining the Rossoneri.

The Italy international only scored two goals for Manchester City this season and believes his January move has given Balotelli hope of reaching his potential on the world stage, although M'Baye Niang tried to steal the 77th minute free-kick from him.

"I am playing at a consistent level and nearing my best form," he told Sky Sport Italia. "I had already missed two free kicks. But I said to him [Niang] that if I missed his one, he could have a go."

Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri hailed Balotelli's attitude and early goalscoring form, admitting the Italian giants are well and truly on the comeback trail after a stuttered start to the season.

"Balotelli scored a great free kick. Balotelli this evening suffered many fouls, but, his reaction was good," Allegri told Sky Sport Italia. "I think the club have made a very good buy with Mario, at a decisive moment in the championship.

"We are making a big comeback now and I am happy with the players. Niang worked very hard for the team tonight too. He is very young, but has helped out a lot in all areas."
