Hoffenheim player hurt in car crash

TSG Hoffenheim's Luis Advincula suffered minor injuries after crashing his car on Thursday, the club has said.

Advincula, 22, was kept in hospital overnight following the accident, and a Hoffenheim statement said: "A medical revealed the Peruvian suffered several bruises but, other than that, remained unscathed."

Club press officer Holger Trump told reporters: "At 9am, Luis Advincula's car left a Sinsheim road. No other persons were involved in the accident."

Heidelberg police said Peru international Advincula had lost control of his car in a 30kmph zone and hit a tree.

"We are relieved that Luis Advincula was mostly unharmed in the crash and hopefully can return to the training pitch very soon," Hoffenheim general manager Andreas Muller said.

"We are equally happy that no other person was involved in the crash."

Hoffenheim signed the right-back, who can also play in midfield, during the January transfer window.

He was brought in as a possible replacement for Germany Under-21 international Boris Vukcevic, who suffered head injuries in a car crash in September and faces a long recovery period.
