Lucas reveals Ibrahimovic support

Lucas Moura has admitted his surprise at being taken under Zlatan Ibrahimovic's wing, with the Sweden international helping Paris Saint-Germain's new arrival settle into life in Ligue 1.

Lucas, 20, arrived from Sao Paulo in January in a €45 million deal. Though he has brought his mother with him to live in the French capital, the Brazil international says that Ibrahimovic has been the man to smooth his integration into Carlo Ancelotti's squad.

"My first meeting with him was very positive, completely the opposite of what people told me about him," he told L'Equipe. "He likes to take the mickey a lot, but he's also given me his support and his help. On the pitch, he whinges a lot and demands a lot from his team-mates, but that's normal."

Lucas has largely escaped Ibrahimovic's wrath, however, having supplied three assists in three Ligue 1 starts - including two in last week's 4-0 trouncing of Toulouse.

His displays earned him the fans' vote as PSG's player of the month for January, and though he seems at ease already, he conceded there remains much for him to learn after making his trans-Atlantic move.

"I'm still adapting to European football," he said. "I'm playing in the same position as I was at Sao Paulo, but in France, the difficulty is that you have to play more tactically, concentrate more and be more rigourous. Everyone has to score and run. The game is quicker. It's a little difficult, because I'm not used to it, but I'm getting there slowly."

That opinion is shared by PSG manager Carlo Ancelotti, who lavished praise on his winter arrival earlier this week.

"Lucas still hasn't shown his best, and still has to get to know the characteristics of his team-mates," he told BeIN Sport. "He's got fantastic pace, and allows the ball to go very quickly from the defence to the attack. He plays very simply, and is very effective in his game, not wasting time dribbling. He's very direct and takes decisions quickly."
