Marco van Basten admits he holds a desire to take charge of his former club Milan and would relish the challenge of coaching Mario Balotelli.
The 48-year-old - a three-time Ballon d'Or winner whilst wearing the Rossoneri shirt between 1987 and 1995 - is currently in charge of Heerenveen in his native Netherlands.
The club is currently struggling at the wrong end of the table - just three points off relegation - but the former coach of the Dutch national side still harbours ambitions of one day taking to the dugout of the San Siro.
"I am working to one day become a coach in Italy," he told Sky Italia. "Where would I like to be coach? Milan, where I have friends and know the whole environment. However, Italian football needs to sort some things out, as only Juventus have a modern stadium.
"In my day San Siro was always full and it was wonderful, while many fans also travelled around the country to watch us play. So many problems accumulated, like the betting scandal, poor referees and old stadiums.
"I would gladly coach Balotelli too, maybe he can come to Heerenveen!"
