Ibrahimovic relishing Becks link-up

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is convinced David Beckham's arrival at Paris Saint-Germain will take the club "to a higher level".

Ibrahimovic, 31, has been the undisputed star of the PSG squad since arriving from AC Milan last summer, but may now find himself less in the spotlight with Beckham, 37, having penned a five-month deal at the Parc des Princes.

While Beckham told the media Ibrahimovic was "one of the players [he's] looking forward to playing with" when he was unveiled on transfer deadline day last month, the Sweden international is equally happy to be teaming up again with the former England captain.

"Now, we're not only good, but we're handsome too," Ibrahimovic told Swedish channel TV4. "His attitude and his love of competition are going to take us to a higher level."

Though Ibrahimovic is unlikely to be star-struck when Beckham, who first played alongside the striker while on loan at AC Milan in 2010, finally begins training on February 13, the same cannot be said for the younger members of Carlo Ancelotti's squad.

"For me, Beckham, he's part of that great Manchester United generation with Andy Cole and Dwight Yorke. He's the first footballer to become a fashion icon," France international Mamadou Sakho, 22, told Le Parisien. "But above all, he's a team-mate, and I'm sure I'm going to learn things from him."
