Lukaku eager to become a Chelsea legend

Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku has set his sights on becoming a club legend at Chelsea, despite admitting he faces a difficult task when he returns to Stamford Bridge after his West Bromwich Albion loan spell.

• Azpilicueta on the rise
• Cech suffers broken finger

Lukaku, 19, was loaned out to West Brom after failing to make an impression under Andre Villas-Boas and Roberto di Matteo at Chelsea, although he has since scored nine league goals for Steve Clarke's side.

With a rich fun of goalscoring form, Lukaku is hoping to play for Chelsea next season, admitting he has ambitions of becoming one of the club's greatest ever forwards.

"My aim is to play at the Bridge and to be a legend over there in the future," he told Sky Sports. "That is the dream. That's what I signed for Chelsea for. But the time is going so really I need to keep playing. And hopefully in the next few years become one of the key elements at the Bridge."

Breaking back into the first team at Chelsea has been made more difficult for Lukaku after the Blues' signing of Demba Ba in January, adding to the presence of Spanish striker Fernando Torres.

"That's the thing when you play for Chelsea - they will always sign big players," he said. "So now it is up to me to show I can go over there and play and do the same as he does now."
