Barca and Real links please Cavani

Edinson Cavani has described Barcelona and Real Madrid as "attractive" destinations but says he is only concerned with trying to win the Scudetto with Napoli before considering his future.

Edinson Cavani joined Napoli from Palermo

Cavani, 25, has been the subject of constant transfer speculation over the past 12 months after scoring goals at an astonishing rate for Napoli. He now has 67 goals in 89 league appearances for the Partenopei and talk of a summer departure has increased since it was revealed his new contract contains a €63 million release clause.

However, the Uruguay international has said that, despite the allure of the Spanish giants, his focus is solely on aiding Napoli's bid to overhaul Juventus at the top of the Serie A standings. Napoli currently trail Juve by three points with 15 games remaining in the season.

"Real Madrid and Barcelona are two great clubs, amongst the strongest in the world, and it is obvious that they are attractive," he told La Gazzetta dello Sport. "The tension rises just when you name those two sides. However, I honestly don't know whether there is the option to join one of those.

"At the moment I have the opportunity to win the Scudetto with Napoli and I'm just concentrating on that aim. I still have four years left on my contract. You never know what will happen in football, but I just work on a day by day basis to get the best."
