4 women to run for FIFA board posts

ZURICH -- A Caribbean official who refused a $40,000 cash offer after a meeting with Mohamed bin Hammam is seeking to join FIFA's executive committee.

FIFA says Sonia Bien-Aime, the general secretary of the Turks and Caicos Islands Football Association, is among four candidates to represent women's soccer on the ruling board through 2017.

An investigation into alleged bribery by Bin Hammam revealed Bien-Aime declined money offered to her association when the Qatari visited Trinidad in May 2011 during his FIFA presidential election campaign.

Bien-Aime has been nominated for the May 31 election at FIFA's congress in Mauritius.

Burundi FA President Lydia Nsekera currently holds the position on an interim mandate.

The other candidates are Asian Football Confederation vice president Moya Dodd of Australia and New Zealand FA audit chairwoman Paula Kearns.
