Agent blames net as Kasami move fails

Fulham midfielder Pajtim Kasami’s move to Pescara was not completed due to internet problems, according to agent Mino Raiola.

Mino Raiola believes Pajtim Kasami should still be allowed to move

Kasami, 20, was set to join Pescara as they bid to avoid relegation from Serie A, but as the documentation was not filed before the deadline in Italy the deal could not be cleared by the league or Italian football federation (FIGC).

Raiola, who was seen on camera complaining about the internet connection at the Ata Hotel in Milan, believes the Swiss Under-21 international should still be allowed to move. The hotel is used by all Italian clubs on deadline day and it is not yet clear if other deals failed because of this problem.

“It was set up for transportation via the internet and the documents were compiled and sent for Kasami to Pescara,” Raiola told Sky Italia. “We insist in repeating that everything was done in the right way.”

The Italian transfer deadline closed at 1900 CET and Raiola believes it should be extended to fall in line with other countries.

“We hope that the league will give consent to this transfer and why, for example, does the window abroad close late and we do not? This is bad for the Italian transfer market and the rules should be changed.”

Lazio failed to sign Santos midfielder Felipe Anderson due to a delay in gaining international clearance after the clubs agreed a €7.5 million fee, and an administrative delay was to blame as Juventus were unable to complete a deal for Andrea Poli.

The Italian champions had agreed a co-ownership deal with Sampdoria that would have seen the 23-year-old remain in Genoa until the summer, but again a paperwork issue prevented it from being completed in time. It is believed he will still move to the Bianconeri in June.
