Senegal to play Angola in Guinea

Senegal's next home World Cup qualifier against Angola will be held in Guinea with the country currently banned from playing matches in their national stadium.

Senegal fans rioted towards the end of an African Nations Cup qualifier against Ivory Coast in Dakar last October - with players and away fans seeking refuge in the centre circle as Senegal supporters started fires in the stands and threw missiles.

The Confederation of African Football imposed a one-year suspension and fined the Senegal Football Association $50,000, with a further $50 000 suspended for two years.

That means Senegal must play all of their remaining World Cup qualifiers away from their homeland, starting with their match against Angola which will be played in Conakry's Stade du 28 Septembre on March 23.

Senegal currently top Group J with four points from two games having won at home to Liberia and drawn in Uganda. The return against Uganda will also have to be played on neutral soil.

The group winners then go through to a two-legged play-off for a place at Brazil 2014, and again there would be no home advantage for Senegal.

Senegal have only once, in 2002, qualified for the World Cup finals and have missed out on two of the last three African Nations Cups leading to supporter unrest at the way the national team is run.
