AC Milan midfielder Antonio Nocerino has said he is happy at the club and does not expect to leave despite interest from Napoli.
Nocerino, 27, made his comments in response to reports that the Rossoneri had met Napoli to discuss a possible swap deal involving former Juventus player Blerim Dzemaili.
Naples-born Nocerino has always said he would like to play for Napoli one day, but added that he believed he would remain at the San Siro until at least the summer, despite seeing his playing time reduced this season.
“I’m happy at Milan,” he said. “However, if the club decide to put me on the market then we’ll sit down and discuss it together.
“I don’t think I’ll be leaving in January. At the end of the season, we’ll evaluate what I’ve done well and badly.”
Italy international Nocerino became a vital member of Massimiliano Allegri’s side last term, scoring ten goals in 35 league games following a €500,000 move from Palermo.
This season, however, the arrival of Riccardo Montolivo and a change in formation have seen him start only 13 games, with other players seemingly ahead of him in the coach’s plans.
