Nottingham Forest have boosted their attacking options with the signing of Darius Henderson from Millwall.

Henderson, 31, becomes the club’s third signing of the January transfer window and is expected to make his debut on Saturday against Watford alongside fellow new boys Elliott Ward and Gonzalo Jara Reyes. He has scored seven goals in 22 games for the Lions this season

Forest chairman Fawaz Al Hasawi said: "We are delighted to have brought a player of Darius's experience to the club.
"He knows all about the Championship and has also played at the highest level in England as well and I've no doubts he will be a great addition to Alex McLeish's squad."

The club also announced that Dexter Blackstock, 26, has signed a new four-and-a-half year contract to remain at the club.

Former Southampton and QPR striker Blackstock’s current deal was due to expire in the summer but subject to passing a medical he will remain at the City Ground long-term.

“It quickly became apparent to me just how important a player Dexter is to Nottingham Forest after my family completed our purchase of the club last summer," Al Hasawi said.

“I made it one of my top priorities to persuade him to sign a new extended contract and I’m delighted he has chosen to do so.”
