Diame: I want to stay at West Ham

West Ham’s Mohamed Diame has committed himself to the club, amid reports of a possible move away from Upton Park for the midfielder.

Mohamed Diame is a player in demand at the moment

Diame, 25, has been linked with a transfer to a number of clubs this month - despite only arriving at the Hammers in the summer - due to a clause in his contract allowing him to leave for £3.5 million.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is reportedly interested in securing the player’s services as he looks to bring more dynamism to Arsenal’s midfield.

However, the former Wigan man has now made it clear he is happy where he is and that he considers his future to be in east London.

"I know there are people out there saying things about me but I have spoken with the manager and told him that I want to stay here," Diame said.

"I know the club want to keep me too so I will continue to give my best for them. I knew when I signed that West Ham were going to make their mark on the Premier League. Since I came here I am enjoying every game I play on the pitch. I think I made a good choice because I'm very happy at this club."

Hammers boss Sam Allardyce also reiterated his belief that Diame will still be a West Ham player come February, seeing as no clubs have yet to make an offer for the player.

"It's the worst month of the year for every manager," Allardyce said. "Not only is there speculation about what players are coming in but speculation about your players going out, and the disruption that causes.

"At the moment we have had no bids from the type of clubs that have been speculated in the papers bidding for Mo Diame. Not an Arsenal, not whoever else, not Newcastle, not none of them. So he's our player at the minute and hopefully [after] Thursday he will still be our player."
