Stoke City manager Tony Pulis has said that USA international Brek Shea is unlikely to join the club during the current the transfer window.
Pulis had been hoping to take a closer look at FC Dallas' Shea amid talk of a possible £2 million deal being agreed.
However, negotiations appear to have hit a stumbling block over the player's valuation, preventing any transfer before the end of the month.
"I can't see him coming now," Pulis said. "We'll see what the future brings."
Pulis has enjoyed success with the American market after the signing of Geoff Cameron from Houston Dynamo last summer.
