Falcao injury not as bad as first thought

Atletico Madrid has received a boost after it was revealed star striker Radamel Falcao's injury is not as bad as initially feared.

Falcao, Atletico's leading scorer with 18 league goals this season, pulled up holding his left hamstring while sprinting during the second half of Sunday's match with Levante.

However, Atletico confirmed Monday that scans have not shown any sign of a tear in the muscle, which will come as a relief to the high-flying Rojiblancos.

Atletico has not yet said how long it expects to miss the Colombia international but will hope to have him available again as soon as possible as they chase silverware on three fronts this season.
