Juve's Lopez offer rejected

Lyon have revealed they have rejected an offer from Juventus for Argentine forward Lisandro Lopez.

Lopez has six goals this season
Lisandro Lopez's eight goals in nineteen games this seasonhas attracted the attention of Juventus.

Lisandro, 29, has played a central role in OL's rise to the top of Ligue 1, scoring six times this season, but with the club needing to lower its wage bill and plug a €28 million hole in its books, the ex-Porto player could leave Stade de Gerland in the January transfer window.

Turin, however, appears unlikely to be his final destination, unless Juve up the initial offer club president Jean-Michel Aulas confirmed he had received, and Lisandro himself has a change of heart.

"It did not correspond to the value nor the desire of the player," Aulas told BeIN Sport. "We can draw a line under that particular hypothesis."

Lisandro, who is under contract with the seven-time French champions until 2014, asked to be relieved of the club captaincy over the winter break, though the move was - as coach Remi Garde explained - so he could "focus more on his own game" rather than a sign of his waning commitment to the OL cause.

Another OL forward, Jimmy Briand, 27, has also indicated his desire to stay at Gerland despite Aulas admitting the club had accepted an offer for the ex-Rennes player from Turkish club Besiktas.
