Javier Hernandez aims to improve

Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez, who is expected to be recalled for Wednesday's FA Cup third-round replay against West Ham, acknowledged that he still needs to work on his game.

"I'm not saying I'm the perfect player," the 24-year-old former Guadalajara player told www.manutd.com. on Tuesday. "I am always looking to improve my game, whether that's my play outside the box or also inside it. I still think there is work for me to do. But the reason I want to improve is so that I can help the team."

Hernandez was left on the bench in Sunday's 2-1 Barclays Premier League win over Liverpool despite an improved performance with the team this past December.

"It's not just that I want to score more goals. It's a group sport and so I want to do what I can to help the team get the right results every week," said Hernandez.

Hernandez is one of the best penalty box predators in the game though. His present tally of 12 is exceeded at United only by star man Robin van Persie.

Hernandez said the Red Devils' speedy approach to the game suits him down to the ground.

"In the history of Manchester United, the team plays a very direct, attacking game," he said. "We want to get to the goal as quickly as we can. Whether it ends in a goal or a goal-kick, we want to play with speed.

"But the important thing at this club is that we can express ourselves," he said. "We don't feel too much pressure in that respect because every time we go out on the field the gaffer tells us, 'Go out, enjoy yourself and do your best'.

"That's been important to us doing well so far this season," he said. "But we are not saying that it's over. We have a lot of confidence but we know there are a lot of difficult games coming."
