Hatem Ben Arfa has said he may leave Newcastle United at the end of the Premier League season "if there is no ambition" shown on Tyneside.

The France international, 25, had already stated his "childhood dream" of playing for Paris Saint-Germain in a newspaper interview with Le Parisien before he appeared on BeIn Sport on Monday evening to announce his future may lie away from St James' Park.

"Today, I'm at Newcastle, and we're not in a good position. I'm going to do my utmost to keep us up. Afterwards, you never know," the ex-Lyon and Marseille midfielder said.

"If I get an offer from PSG, of course I'd look carefully at it, but that's not the case. I'm going to talk with the [Newcastle] board at the end of the season. If there's good ambition, why not stay? If not, I'd prefer to leave."

Ben Arfa signed a four-and-a-half year deal after making his initial loan move from Marseille permanent in January 2011, becoming Alan Pardew's first signing as Newcastle manager.
