Mourinho coy on Casillas after draw

Jose Mourinho acknowledged the performance of goalkeeper Iker Casillas following Real Madrid's 0-0 draw with Osasuna, but could not guarantee the club captain will be in the starting side next week.

• Blog: No Ronaldo, no goals

Mourinho saw more pressure heaped on his team on Saturday after their poor performance against bottom-placed Osasuna.

The Real Madrid manager, though, took the clean sheet as a positive out of the match before suggesting problems between he and Casillas remain.

"In our last two games, the team has played well defensively, and [Casillas] has been a part of that," Mourinho explained.

"I liked how he played against Celta as well, rising to the occasion to give his team a boost. Nevertheless, it is still too early to tell if he will play against Valencia on Tuesday."

Real Madrid will face Valencia at the Bernabeu in the Copa del Rey quarter-finals midweek, and Mourinho is hopeful his outfit - who had Kaka sent off on Saturday evening - show the same character they displayed with 10 men against Osasuna.

"It's not easy to create chances here against opponents like these," he said. "We had chances to score though, not many, but we had some.

"I liked the attitude of the team, and several players had great games. [Raul] Albiol and [Fabio] Coentrao deserve praise, playing very well despite just returning from long injuries."
