Wesley Sneijder’s agent has dismissed reports that he is on the verge of joining Galatasaray.
Sneijder has been heavily linked with the Turkish outfit, with reports on Friday stating that a deal is imminent. However, Sneijder’s representative, Soren Lerby, insists such speculation is premature, indicating his client is holding out for a move to a bigger club.
"That's impossible," Lerby told Voetbal International. "We didn't even talk with Gala, so there couldn't be an agreement. I have no idea [about an agreement between the two sides]. Inter haven't told me about it. I don't expect Sneijder to sign a contract just yet.
"Anything is possible. Over the next few weeks we will consider every offer that comes our way. It's the choice of Wesley and his wife Yolanthe. Until then, Wesley needs to rest so he can make the right decision."
Galatasaray sporting director Abdurrahim Albayrak earlier stated that he expected Sneijder to move to the Turk Telecom Arena “most likely” in the coming days.
