Rafinha staying put at Bayern

Bayern Munich defender Rafinha has no plans to leave the Bundesliga leaders during the transfer window, despite finding his game time limited this season.

Rafinha, 27, who arrived from Genoa on a €5.5 million transfer during the summer of 2011, has found himself playing second fiddle to Philipp Lahm, having only featured in the Bundesliga six times this season.

According to kicker several Brazilian clubs have expressed an interest in prising the former Schalke man back to his homeland, yet Rafinha has instead vowed to stay at Bayern.

“I am 100% fit and ready when needed,” he said. “Bayern is a great club. I don’t want to leave. Brazil is not an issue right now. I am fully concentrated on Bayern for now and in the summer we will take it from there.”

Meanwhile, Anatoliy Tymoshchuk has once again hinted at a possible exit from the club.

“I don’t know if I’ll still be here in February,” he said.

Yet, also according to kicker, no offers have so far been made for the defensive midfielder.

“We will not approach a player and tell him to leave the club,” Bayern general manager Matthias Sammer said on the matter.
