Tottenham have been warned they will need to make a 'spectacular offer' if they are to land Internacional striker Leandro Damiao in the January transfer window.
Spurs are one of numerous European clubs being linked with a move for Damiao, with his club president Giovanni Luigi telling reporters in Brazil that he is 'still undecided' on the 23-year-old's future.
Reports suggest Tottenham will make a move for Damiao after Emmanuel Adebayor's last minute decision to link up with the Togo squad for the African Cup of Nations in South Africa and they have been given hope of securing a deal in the summer by Internacional's decision maker.
"There have been some offers from Premier League clubs, but we have not yet decided what will happen with Damiao," said Luigi. "It will be very difficult for something to happen in January unless we have a spectacular offer.
"We have read about the interest from Tottenham, but Inter Milan? Someone told me about it, but there were no direct contacts and we have never received a direct offer."
Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas fuelled rumours that a bid from Tottenham for Damiao is imminent after he was quoted heaping praise on the striker.
"We obviously follow the best players and youngsters and Leandro Damiao fits in the profile," he told Lancenet. "He was spectacular at the Olympics, but there are other interesting players.
"We are paying attention to his progress, but he had injuries after the Olympics and may not have played that often. If he is within our reach, he'll always be in our list."
Meanwhile, Damiao's agent Vinicus Prates insisted he has 'not received any offers' for his client and insisted he was happy to stay at Internacional.
