United loan duo to Peterborough
Sir Alex Ferguson has let his son Darren borrow two of Manchester United's young players to help Peterborough in their bid to escape relegation from the Championship.
Defender Scott Wootton has joined Posh for the rest of the season while midfielder Davide Petrucci has agreed a one-month deal at London Road.
Wootton, 21, was also on loan at Peterborough last season but made four appearances for United during their autumn defensive injury crisis.
Petrucci, also 21, is yet to make a senior appearance for United but often captains their reserves.
Ferguson senior has previously loaned Ryan Tunnicliffe, Ben Amos and James Chester to Peterborough and sent Matty James, Ritchie de Laet and Joshua King to Preston when his son managed there.
Wootton told the BBC: "I'm delighted to be back. Last time I was disappointed because maybe I could have played a few more games and I would have liked to show the fans what I can do.
"I've got that chance now and hopefully I'll play a lot more games."
Peterborough have won three of their last four league games to move out of the Championship’s relegation zone.
