Nedved banned for insulting ref

Juventus board member Pavel Nedved has been banned from attending Serie A games until January 31 after confronting officials following Sunday's 2-1 home defeat to Sampdoria.

The Lega Serie A's disciplinary panel found Nedved, 40, guilty of insulting Paolo Valeri after the shock defeat to Sampdoria, who had played for an hour with ten men after the dismissal of Gaetano Berardi.

Juve had been left frustrated that, having opened the scoring through a Sebastian Giovinco penalty, they were not given a second spot-kick when Alessandro Matri appeared to be brought down in the area.

Additional bans were given to Catania's Francesco Lodi and Andrea Cossu of Cagliari after the duo were sent off during the latest round of matches.

Lodi, 32, has handed a three-match suspension following his straight red card for slapping Torino's Riccardo Meggiorini in the face just 13 minutes into the goalless draw on Saturday.

Cossu, meanwhile, has been handed a two-game ban following his own dismissal for protesting against a penalty decision in the Rossoblu's 2-1 loss to Lazio.
