Dubai-based Al-Ahli have signed former Barcelona and Inter Milan winger Ricardo Quaresma on a free transfer.
Quaresma, a free agent since being released by Beskitas last month, has joined the club on an 18-month deal, chairman Abdulla Al Naboodah confirmed via Twitter on Monday evening.
Ahli director of football Roy Aitken, who previously confirmed the club's interest in the player, said the 29-year-old Portugal international is likely to be the club's only addition during the transfer window.
"He’s the only one we’re looking at. Other players have been mentioned [but] he’s the only one we’re working on at the moment,” he toldSport360 last week.Quaresma, who also counts Porto, Chelsea and Sporting among his former clubs, will be hoping to help Al-Ahli to a first league crown since 2009.
