Arnautovic: Milan link an honour

Werder Bremen winger Marko Arnautovic has played down reports linking him to AC Milan - but said he was honoured to have been linked with the Serie A club.

Arnautovic, 23, was linked with a €10 million move to Milan by German football weekly Sport Bild.

But speaking to Sky on Thursday, the Austria international said he had not so far been approached by the club.

“Of couse, Milan being interested in me is a great honour,” he added. “But I have only heard about it through the media. I feel great here.”

Arnautovic joined Bremen from Twente Enschede in 2010, having spent 2009-10 on a loan at Inter Milan but making only three appearances under then manager Jose Mourinho.

After handing him his debut against Chievo Verona in January 2010, Mourinho claimed Arnautovic had “the character of a child”.

But this season has seen Arnautovic - under contract with Bremen until 2014 - arrive as a force and he has scored five goals in 16 games, sparking speculation of a transfer to Wolfsburg.
