No appeal against Muscat's three-week ban
The Wellington Phoenix on Thursday said they accepted defender Manny Muscat's three-match A-League suspension for elbowing Brisbane Roar young gun Nick Fitzgerald.
Accordingly, the Phoenix will not appeal the decision by the league's match review panel.
Muscat was charged with violent conduct over the incident late in Tuesday's 2-1 loss to the Roar at Suncorp Stadium.
The pair clashed in the 74th minute and Muscat appeared to raise his elbow at Fitzgerald.
The ban means Muscat will miss the struggling Phoenix's away match against Melbourne Victory on Saturday, followed by clashes with Western Sydney and Sydney FC.
