Spurs' Villas-Boas eyes Damiao, Willian

Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas signaled his resumed interest in acquiring Brazilian duo Leandro Damiao and Willian in a bid to bolster his Spurs squad as it continues to chase a third-place finish.

He revealed the Premier League side's recently failed bids to obtain Internacional striker Damiao and Shakhtar Donetsk winger Willian, and confirmed that Spurs have renewed their interest in the Brazilian attackers.

"We got in touch with Willian [in the summer] and he is one of the players that interests us," Villas-Boas told Brazilian website Lancenet, as quoted in the Daily Mirror. "I like his style, but we could not reach the value Shakhtar were asking. It does not mean we won't try again."

Damiao, who starred for Brazil in its silver-medal winning run at the London 2012 Olympics, has been linked with a move to the Premier League since mid-summer.

But the Mirror reported on Tuesday that Brazil's Internacional will not sell Damiao for less than $32.57 million.

"For Damiao, he had a spectacular Olympics," Villas-Boas said. "We follow the best players and youngsters. Leandro fits this profile. He has had injuries after London 2012, but he is a player that is always on our list."

In other Spurs news, Villas-Boas said he was still unsure over whether he would lose striker Emmanuel Adebayor to the African Nations Cup in two weeks.

"It's a vulnerable situation, anything can happen," he said. "I've told you the player can still go. I understand it is still a possibility.

"It was always his choice. I'm not going to put pressure on him. We've left it to player to decide. If player wants to go, we respect the African Nations Cup."
