Blackburn tie up deal for United's King

Manchester United have sold their reserve-team striker Joshua King to Blackburn for an undisclosed fee.

The Norway international, who had been on loan at Ewood Park since November, has signed a two-and-a-half year deal with the Championship club.

King, who has scored one goal in four games for his country, never made a first-team appearance for United and was loaned to Preston, Borussia Monchengladbach, Hull and Blackburn.

He was the only signing made by former Blackburn boss Henning Berg, who was sacked last Thursday after just 57 days in charge.

King has scored two goals in eight games for Blackburn, including the first after Berg’s departure, in Saturday’s 3-1 win over Barnsley, and even though Rovers are looking for a manager, they moved to keep him.

The 20-year-old, who can also play as a winger, said in the Lancashire Telegraph: "I’ve enjoyed my time here, we’ve a great group of lads and I think I’ve settled in well.

"I’m happy to be here and I’m really looking forward to the next two-and-a-half years that I’ve signed for. Everybody has made me so welcome here. I feel comfortable here and I’m happy to make the deal permanent."

Sir Alex Ferguson has also allowed two other young forward to leave with Bebe going to Rio Ave and Angelo Henriquez to Wigan, both on loan.
