Ji joins Augsburg on loan

Sunderland have confirmed that striker Ji Dong-Won has joined Bundesliga side Augsburg on loan.

Ji Dong-Won
Ji made 21 appearances for Sunderland last season, scoring two goals

Ji, 21, failed to make a single appearance for Sunderland this season and has been allowed to join Augsburg until the end of the season.

New Augsburg sporting director Stefan Reuter told his club’s official website: “It’s nice that we could complete the transfer before the start of training [following the winter break]. Dong-Won Ji, who can play in several attacking positions, will be able to enjoy full preparation for the second half of the season with the team.”

Augsburg are currently second from bottom in the Bundesliga, having scored only 12 goals in 17 league games.
