Cudicini opts for Galaxy move
Tottenham goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini has chosen to move to the MLS and join the LA Galaxy on a two-year deal in January.
Cudicini, 39, slipped down the pecking order at White Hart Lane after motorcycle crash which resulted in two fractured wrists and damage to his pelvis. Following the signing of Hugo Lloris he has become the club’s third-choice goalkeeper behind the Frenchman and Brad Friedel, who recently signed a new deal.
The Italian has now opted to move on and see out his career in America; he reportedly asked to be paid the maximum possible wage within the club's salary cap.
Cudicini moved to White Hart Lane in January 2009 on a free transfer after spending nine years with Chelsea and is now set to join former Tottenham striker Robbie Keane at the Galaxy.
Spurs issued a statement on Monday evening which read: "We have reached agreement for the transfer of Carlo Cudicini to Major League Soccer side LA Galaxy. Carlo joined us from Chelsea in January 2009 and went on to make a total of 37 appearances. We wish Carlo all the best for the future.''
